Three to five groups—each consisting of hardware developers, software developers, audio engineers, composers, and technology executives—spend two days of facilitated brainstorming to formulate solutions to the industry's most important problems. Game Audio Education Links
"Biff Boom Pow: Introducing Students to Sound for Games" This presentation from 2013GDC describes a method for teaching the basics of sound to non-sound people, also good for beginner sound people, by Karen Collins, Canada Research Chair in Interactive Audio at the University of Waterloo.
"The Game Audio Tutorial" The demonstration level using the Unreal Development Kit is available to download and use for free. This game level developed by Richard Stevens and Dave Raybould from Leeds Metropolitan University in the U.K. illustrates many of the fundamental concepts involved in developing sound and music for games. (An older version made for Unreal 3 is available here.)
GamesSound The Theory and Practice of Video Game Audio: This website is maintained by Karen Collins, Ph.D., IASIG Game Audio Education Working Group member, and author of Game Sound: An Introduction to the History, Theory, and Practice of Video Game Music and Sound Design, an essential text for any study of game audio. GamesSound presents a large and valuable collection of interactive audio-related publications, learning resources, and links to other important sites.
DigiPen Institute of Technology offers two new degree programs for students interested in game audio: the Bachelor of Arts in Music and Sound Design (BAMSD) and the Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Sound Design.
